  • Cash market versus futures market, basis definition, price risk versus basis risk, contracting choices.

  • Types of options, definitions, contract specifications, components of premium and expiration versus offset or exercise/assignment.

  • Core strategies and Adjustments
  • Review of basic futures and options positions typically used by commodity buyers to protect the risk of both higher and lower prices. Discussion of position management and making tactical adjustments to strategies over time to manage both delta and volatility to take advantage of opportunities that may arise.

  • Price Management Simulation:
  • Integrated online simulation incorporating both futures and options strategies to manage the risk of a metal buyer’s price risk through a historical market.
